Situated in a substantial Victorian residence built around 1870 for the Count De Serra Largo - the Auld Alliance Guest House combines exquisite French cuisine with a homely, peaceful atmosphere and a warm welcome. The dining room is on the ground floor, stylishly decorated with French memories and original art. Dining at the Auld Alliance is a relaxed and memorable experience. Guests' are presented with a meticulously chosen menu, showcasing Scottish and French produce. The menu changes every day. Everything is prepared in the Auld Alliance kitchen from the moreish selection of bread to melting oaty biscuits. The cuisine combines flavours from Provence and Burgundy, the finest local produce is used whenever possible. The wine list is French with some interesting finds - Lydie is only too happy to share her extensive knowledge. On summer evenings cocktails are served on the terrace - and when the nights 'draw in' you can enjoy a dram in front of a roaring log fire. The Auld Alliance offers a choice of four tastefully decorated bedrooms with one of them situated on the ground floor. Peaceful views across the Spey valley can be admired from most rooms. What make staying at the Auld Alliance special are all the personal touches: Fresh milk, homebaked treats and a small decanter with one of the finest Speyside or Highland malt . Breakfast is meant to be a relaxing experience and a treat that is why guests are invited to choose their own time.
