Ruthven House B&B
Ruthven House is set in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park beside Ruthven Barracks and the RSPB Insh Marshes Reserve in Highland Scotland, recently voted one of the top twenty places in the world to visit by the National Geographic Traveller Magazine. The town of Kingussie is a leisurely 15 minute walk away and lies 12 miles south of Aviemore. Kingussie train station has direct links to Perth, Edinburgh, Glasgow and the sleeper service to London. For the weary traveller we can arrange for you to be collected from the train station. We want to offer you a heartfelt invitation to enjoy our home and to make it your "home from home" for the duration of your stay with us. As you step through the front door, you'll be welcomed into our spacious entrance hall. This floor accommodates our Guest Dining Room and our Guest Bedroom, Gynack, named after a local river, with your own private bathroom just next door. We also have a second Guest Bedroom, Tromie, on the 1st Floor with en suite facilities. Tea and coffee making facilities are available in your room but please feel free to make use of the dining room with large screen TV throughout your stay. Internet access is also available. Full Scottish Breakfast is served in the dining room, normally between 8am - 10am. Please just let us know the night before what time you require breakfast. In the event that you have not brought a favourite book with you, we have a good selection for you to browse through. In the warmer months you are also more than welcome to enjoy our garden, shaded by the rare and ancient Wych Elm Tree. If you wish a newspaper in the morning, please just let us know the night before and we will happily collect this for you. If there is anything we can do to help, any advice we can offer about the attractions and activities in the area, you only have to ask. If you do happen to get caught in the rain (Yes, it can happen), never fear, we have facilities to get any of your damp clothing dry.
