Christmas in Kingussie
This Christmas Kingussie is hosting all the traditional events.
The Christmas Funday takes place on Sunday the 4th December when many shops will be open and offering hot drinks or mulled wine. There is a Santa's Grotto, a Junior mini Grand Prix and street stalls. The Iona Gallery will have an Art & Craft Market and there'll be a Floral Art exhibition in Talla nan ros.
At 16:30 the Strathspey & Badenoch Pipe Band will march past and the town Christmas tree will be lit.
Christmas Eve festivities this year be in front of the Duke of Gordon Hotel. From 7pm there will be mulled wine, mince pies and shortbread and Carol singing.
Santa Claus will arrive with his Reindeer-drawn sledge at about 7.30pm.
On Hogmanay we will have the Kingussie Firework Display.
Meet up at Kingussie Train Station at 11:30 to take part in the Torch light procession up to Ardvonie Park where the fireworks take place. There'll be free Hot Chocolate or a free Dram of local Whisky for the Bells.
And on New Years Day the traditional Shinty Challenge match takes place when a Kingussie All Star select side take on the current Kingussie 1st team. The game takes place at the Market Stance on Ruthven Road and starts at 1pm.
