Helping Orphans In Nepal

The Kalaa Jyoti charity was founded in 2010 to help the lives and job prospects of orphans in Nepal by the art and crafts training provided by Gordon Davidson, a professional artist based in Arran. He makes a trip of several weeks every year to Nepal to deliver this programme. The charity also provides housing and assistance for those who on leaving the orphanage intend to continue studying for a career in art, design and related skills.

Hosted by John and Durga Patchett, at this exhibition you can buy original artwork by the children as well as Christmas cards and notelets.

Flow Photofestival Group

From 8th September to 6th October the Iona Gallery is hosting two photographic exhibitions from the Flow Photofestival Group entitled Faces of North by Ragnar Axelsson, and Faroe Islands by Andrea Gjestvang.

Also, in the small gallery there are supporting exhibitions by Ronald and Janet King, followed by Rod Purcell and Ronald Thain.
