Fishing on the river Spey

Kingussie makes an ideal base for the visiting angler offering a wide range of Loch and river fishing, species encountered are mainly Brown trout, Salmon and Pike.

The Badenoch Angling Club formed in the mid 1960's controls fishing from the mouth of the River Tromie to the Spey Dam at Laggan a distance of 15 miles, there is also fishing alongside the A86 side of Loch Laggan and parts of Loch Ericht. 

There is private fishing on Loch Gynack a 10 minute drive from the centre of Kingussie to Pitmain Lodge Permits available from Service Sports 01540661228 for session prices this is a Brown Trout loch and fly only fishing from the shore or by boat.
Slightly further afield Grantown-on-Spey is a 30 minute drive and has some world class Salmon and Sea Trout fishing www.speyfishing-grantown.co.uk for permit details.
