During the past three years the AAGA has been involved increasingly in films about food, both through the Kingussie Food on Film Festival, and through the making and screening of documentaries.  

HIGHLAND YOUTH AWARD FOR SHORT FOOD FILMS 2010:

A filmmaking competition for High Schools in the Highland Region 

This year there are three categories: Fiction, Documentary and Animation. 

FILM-MAKING WORKSHOP – September 2009. This year’s competition kicks off in September with a filmmaking workshop hosted by Kingussie High School. Triple Echo Productions will give practical hands on tuition to students with all levels of experience on this one day workshop. It is hoped that all participants will then go on to produce and enter a film for the Award. 

OSCAR NIGHT – February 5^th 2010 will see the second glamorous red carpet event screening short films about food at the Kingussie Food on Film Festival. A panel of Film Industry judges will assess the films and give feedback to the filmmakers, then choose the winners while the audience enjoy live music and delicious food. Cash prizes for all three categories and an overall winner will be presented on the night.
