BBC Scotland’s Hit TV Series, Monarch of the Glen, has been filmed entirely in the Spey Valley.  Kingussie is proud to have hosted the filming of many scenes, both in the town centre and at the golf club and surrounding countryside.

Many internationally known artistes and aspiring newcomers have been featured in the programmes, giving audiences throughout the world hours of enjoyment.

Thanks to the skill of the writers and production teams, viewers have been given the opportunity to experience, from their own homes, beautiful Highland landscape, magnificent scenery and the opportunity to observe local villages and historical sites.

As the filming of the final series commences spring 2005, we wish all those who have been involved with Monarch best wishes for the future. It is our wish too, that we will have the opportunity of welcoming many Monarch supporters to Kingussie where you will be assured of a warm Highland welcome.

Below are some snapshots of locations and characters you may recognise from the series. A Monarch of the Glen leaflet/ map featuring towns and villages of Monarch Country is available and for absolutely everything  you would like to know about the entire programme, visit www.monarchcountry.com and www.bbc.co.uk.scotland/monarch
