Insh Marshes is the most important flood plain mire in Britain. Ospreys, lapwings, goldeneye ducks, hen harriers, spotted flycatchers, tree pipits, redstarts and great spotted woodpeckers are but a few of the many interesting species you might expect to spot whilst visiting this area in spring and summer. In winter mallards, teals, whooper swans and geese arrive. Over 500 species of plants have been identified on the RSPB reserve.
